Flemish is spoken in the northern part of the country by about 60 percent of the population. French is spoken in the southern part of the country and in Brussels by about 40 percent of the population. German is spoken in the Liege region that borders Germany by about 1 percent of the population.

Weather: Belgium has a temperate climate. The mild weather ranges from 32 F (0 C) to 70 F (22 C). There is significant rainfall and cloud coverage most of the year, with sunny summers with rainfall.

Geography: Belgium is divided into three geographical regions: north Belgium consists of low flat land and the coastal region, middle Belgium consists of farmland on the plains, and upper Belgium consists of Adrennes highlands and forests.
